Akash Gahuri

Akash brings experience in product innovation and human-centered design to YLabs, where he focuses on supporting innovation for systemic change across Africa. Based in Nairobi, his journey began with engineering in mathematics and computing from New Delhi, before truly discovering his passion for first-principles thinking and design strategy.

As founder of Infimuse, a hyperlocal social commerce platform, Akash looks to bridge the gap between personal and professional living through community engagement and pursuit of passion, and contribute towards the future of work, self development and social interactions. His work spans diverse sectors including agriculture, governance, and consumer-tech, supporting startups, NGOs, and government initiatives across East Africa and beyond. He's passionate about using technology to address deep-rooted challenges and empower communities in a collaborative and self-sustaining way.

When he's not solving complex problems, Akash can be found exploring his eclectic taste in music, playing the guitar, cruising on his motorcycle in search of views and bendy roads, discovering nature trails with his dogs in the suburbs of Nairobi or not finishing the gazillionth DIY project he started.
