The Costing and Evaluation Specialist will play a key role in developing a methodologically rigorous cost model structure that is transparent in its assumptions, defensible to donor and government audiences, and replicable as a global public good. In this position, you will work with internal climate change and SRHR technical experts at YLabs, as well as an Ethiopia-based in-country specialist, to provide additional technical input and guidance to ensure the model outputs are relevant, accurate, and meaningful.

Over the course of approximately 33 working days, the In-Country Government and Program Specialist will play a key role as YLabs’ primary bridge to government counterparts, enabling access to programmatic, budget, and policy data that is essential to producing a credible, locally grounded cost model.

The ideal candidate brings proven project management expertise and can hit the ground running. A strong command of budget management and the ability to track multiple fast-moving deliverables in parallel will be essential. As the project team is in a period of rapid growth, this role will also play a key part in supporting the recruitment and onboarding coordination of new hires throughout the hiring phase. The consultant will sit within the Programs department and should be equally comfortable operating across HR and recruitment functions.

The ideal candidate brings a track record of leading 6-7 figure proposals with full autonomy, a proactive approach to lead generation, opportunity creation, and the credibility to represent YLabs in competitive settings.

This individual will drive high-impact research, innovation, and strategic decision-making using cutting-edge research methodologies and frameworks. The ideal candidate must be able to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and manage research and innovation projects with minimal supervision.

You will function as a department head: setting the strategic direction for how YLabs attracts, levels, compensates, and retains a globally distributed team. You will establish and refine the systems, structures, and compliance infrastructure that make this possible as YLabs grows.
